darker

Damn it’s dark

I stumbled. Then I tumbled.
Bruised my knee. Wounded my hand.
A dozen concussions; A million cuts.
My territory – moving land.

Further I fall; into a gorge.
Creatures in the way, I try to dodge.
Stranger it gets, as I surge ahead.
My body now a scary, scarlet red.

It’s cold and eerie; I’m chilled to the bone.
And what’s worse, I’m all alone.
No ladders in sight; nothing to hold on to.
I’m so far away from home.

Crooked little twist; interesting game.
Would have been great; such a shame.
I land on soft grass; like that in a park.
Can’t see a thing; damn it’s dark.
